Mikhail Sheianov MD, PhD, is currently the Head of Pulmonology Department and a Professor in Internal Medicine at Burnasyan Federal Medical Biophysical Center in Moscow, Russia.

Dr. Sheianov received his MD and PhD from I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University. His doctoral and postdoctoral studies at the Department of Internal Diseases of the same university were dedicated to the problems of anti-inflammatory treatment and patient education in asthma, pulmonary involvement in rheumatoid arthritis, and some aspects of cardiology. For several years, his work was associated with large academic medical centers in Moscow where Dr. Sheianov headed the departments of general internal medicine providing tertiary and emergency care to patients with a wide spectrum of heart, lung, and blood diseases, gastroenterological, nephrological, rheumatological, and oncological (palliative care) conditions with an accent on elderly care, multiple organ conditions, and pulmonary disorders.

Nowadays, his professional interests relate to pharmacological and non-pharmacological management of COPD, pneumonia, and interstitial pulmonary disorders. Current work of Dr. Sheianov is focused on novel drug and non-pharmacological treatments of COVID-19 and patient rehabilitation after this illness.
