Dr. Manos Vlasiou

About this speaker

Dr. Vlasiou has a PhD in the field of Medicinal Inorganic Chemistry. His thesis was incorporated the synthesis and characterisation of metal-based drugs that causing apoptosis in cancer cells. He is a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry and a certified chemist. In addition, he is a reviewer for a number of scientific journals and author of several scientific articles. He is currently teaching physical chemistry in the department of Health and Life Sciences at the University of Nicosia (Pharmacy program). His research interests lies both on synthesis of anticancer and antimicrobial metal-based drugs and in spectroscopic evaluation of drug interactions. The last years he likes to evaluate his molecules with computational chemistry and docking studies as well.
